Let me tell you no no no, this is not the way to go. The main thing to do is to blend the sugar and the butter together until it's fluffy. How will you know when it's fluffy? You'll know when it looks so good that you want to eat it like icing on the cake. Why is this important? Trust me I used to ask the same thing, but once I tried it, it made the cookies come out more moist and chewy for me. For cakes they become more fluffy, light, and moist.
